I love the Latin name of Palmarosa: Cymbogon martini! It sounds like a happy hour cocktail that Bilbo Baggins might order down at the local Shire pub. While definitely not a drink, the essential oil of this lemon grass species has a lot to make you smile.
I love to combine it in blends to assist with skin related problems. The oil has a cooling effect on the skin. Effective for rashes and dry, flaky or inflamed skin, it is one of the oils in Eugenia Essentials “Shaving Burn Relief” blend. Palmarosa helps with tissue regeneration and is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. It has also been proven to be effective against internal parasites such as…yuck…pin worms.
The notes of this oil (top and middle) smell fresh and uplifting with a lemony, rosy scent.
Palmarosa helps relieve physical exhaustion and all stress related problems. It clears the mind and can assist with decision making as well as all healing in the spiritual, mental and physical bodies. Now that’s what I call splendor in the grass!
