Soap…it’s a simple lifesaver

Handcrafted Soaps 004Today I decided to make a batch of lemongrass soap.  While I was stirring the batch I started thinking about the earthquake in Haiti. I could not even begin to imagine what it would be like to lose my home, a friend or family member, or even a limb in an earthquake.  As I wondered how I might contribute to the relief efforts,  I remembered a grassroots organization here in Orlando called “Clean the World.” They recycle bars of hotel soap by re-batching and then deliver the soap to the poorer regions of the world where a simple thing like soap is hard to come by.  Most of us are aware that hand washing is the single most effective way of warding off illness.  This is the mission of Clean the World. Haiti is one of the countries they are active in and sure enough, they are already delivering soap and other hygiene items to the earthquake victims.

Please won’t you take a moment and visit their site to read about their relief efforts? There is also a secure link where you can donate to help their cause. I just did. www.cleantheworld.org Thank you!

I know exactly what you’re saying, I just couldn’t imagine experiencing the loss that those in Haiti have. It is heart wrenching to say the least. Thank you for this information. I will definitely check out Clean The World to see how I can help (I was unaware of the organization).
